A PROJECT AWARDED FOR ITS EXCELLENCE AND URBAN IMPACT
As part of the redevelopment of a promenade located next to the Château d’Angers, the “Promenade du Bout du Monde” has been transformed into a welcoming and elegant public space thanks to the bespoke urban furniture designed and produced by ATECH SAS.
This project, which received recognition at the 2018 Victoires du Paysage awards, including the “Heart of the City” special prize, showcases ATECH’s expertise in working with stabilised corten steel and untreated robinia wood.

Unique street furniture for an iconic promenade
We worked in close collaboration with local stakeholders, including LNTP Angers, to design and manufacture bespoke benches and bollards tailored to the historic architecture of Angers.
The elements of street furniture were carefully conceived to combine functionality, aesthetics and durability, using high-quality, sustainable materials:
- Stabilised corten steel: Weather-resistant, its natural patina offers an authentic charm that integrates seamlessly with local heritage.
- Untreated robinia: A durable, naturally resilient wood, ideal for outdoor applications.
The benches were manufactured using a high-precision laser cutting process, allowing for intricate designs and clean finishes. This method ensures a high level of detail while maintaining structural solidity and long-term durability. The result is elegant, contemporary furniture with a distinctive identity.
A vibrant public space in the city centre
The Promenade du Bout du Monde is now much more than a thoroughfare.
This urban development project, with its bespoke benches, minimalist bike racks and matching bollards, has become a space for relaxation and social interaction, while highlighting the architectural value of the city’s ramparts and surrounding historic buildings.
Visitors can enjoy a unique setting where the old and the new blend in harmony.
