In a prestigious district of Paris, we imagined and designed bespoke orangerie planters to highlight a unique landscape layout and clad the existing planters.
In November 2017, this project was nominated for the Grand Prix Architecture, Landscape & Heritage and received the Bronze Gesture Award. The architects Thierry Despont and Atelier Cos led the design, while Les Jardins de Gally, Ticozet and ATECH handled the execution.
As a result, this private garden combines elegance, architectural heritage and technical innovation.
ORANGERIE PLANTERS TAILORED TO THE URBAN ENVIRONMENT
To meet the site’s high aesthetic and functional expectations, we opted for custom-made bottomless orangerie planters designed to wrap around the existing ones. This reduces maintenance by allowing existing vegetation to grow from one planter to another. The 2 mm thick galvanised steel ensures excellent corrosion resistance and long-lasting performance.
The planters were powder-coated in RAL 6011, a soft chromatic tone that blends seamlessly with the building and surrounding greenery.

Handcrafted expertise and refined detailing
To reinforce the stability of the orangerie planters, we added a 30 mm return and a 150 mm base plate. This meticulous attention to detail was one of the reasons the project received praise from the Grand Prix jury. The combination of galvanised and powder-coated steel gives the project a refined and understated identity. Finishes were carefully chosen, including a post cap in ogee style, which adds elegance and modernity—perfectly in keeping with the nobility of the site.
