TREE BASE LANDSCAPING IN CORTEN STEEL IN LISIEUX
To enhance Henri Chéron Street, we designed and supplied twelve bottomless panel planters, measuring 2750 x 2750 x 500 mm, made of 2 mm-thick sandblasted corten steel.
The primary aim was to completely redesign the tree pits along this stretch of road, from no. 62 to no. 118.
Each tree bases now offers dual functionality: a comfortable seat made from grooved laminate, and a planted area that increases greenery in the street.
These installations contribute to a more attractive and inviting atmosphere around the shops in Lisieux, offering shaded seating that encourages relaxation.

Why choose corten steel for tree base integration?
Corten steel is widely valued for its exceptional durability and natural evolving appearance.
It forms a protective patina when exposed to air and moisture, giving it a long lifespan and a distinctive, warm aesthetic that blends seamlessly into urban environments.
Using corten steel planters for tree base improves the management of vegetation at the base of each tree.
The bottomless design helps avoid water stagnation and facilitates natural root growth, ensuring the long-term health of the plants.

Urban furniture that enhances Henri Chéron Street
Particular attention was paid to integrating these planters into the street’s dynamic character.
The grooved laminate seats provide comfortable, shaded resting spots near the shops.
The distinctive corten steel finish reinforces the visual identity of the street while maintaining a coherent transition with surrounding façades.
However, this project is not limited to the addition of street furniture: it contributes to revitalizing public space and encouraging passersby to discover the neighborhood’s shops and services. As a result, the street’s vibrancy is greatly enhanced.
Our corten steel panel planters: a sustainable design solution
To meet the project’s durability and bespoke design requirements, we worked the corten steel sheets through rolling, folding and welding. Our technicians apply a sandblasted finish to improve metal protection and weather resistance. The choice of grooved laminate for seating guarantees excellent resistance to wear and outdoor conditions, while offering optimal comfort for users.
