Specific landscaping and planting of an esplanade
Landscaping the François Mitterrand esplanade in Bourg-en-Bresse, a greening project for the city's iconic square. We are proud to present this transformation where creativity and expertise have merged to create eight Corten steel landscape modules, combining design and greenery to enhance the space. Through our collaboration with the company Balland Landscapes, we had the opportunity to rethink public spaces in a bold way. The eight structures we designed and delivered stand as tangible testaments to our dedication to creating quality, vibrant, and green urban spaces. By skillfully combining Corten steel with Moabi wood, we have created oases of comfort, spaces that invite relaxation, conviviality, and contemplation.
The development of the esplanade: a global dynamic
This project represents the culmination of a global vision that is gradually coming to life, weaving connections between the city's new elements. In the same district, the conservatory was inaugurated in the summer of 2022. Le Sirius, bringing together businesses, and the Beau Marché food court have also opened in recent years. Each new activity has contributed to the creation of an ecosystem aimed at revitalizing this downtown area.
Formerly named Place de Verdun and renamed Place François Mitterrand, this new space, unfolding as a forecourt in front of the new conservatory, reveals itself as a place for passage and rejuvenation, embracing greenery. It embodies a fluid connection, linking the fairgrounds to the commercial energy and the history etched in the streets of the city center.

The Esplanade François Mitterand is the largest square in the center of Bourg-en-Bresse, and this development project is one of the largest rehabilitation projects the city has undertaken to improve the well-being of its residents.
This high-traffic and transit area must offer pedestrians shaded seating solutions and varied spaces adapted to the high temperatures found in this type of square. Revitalize by planting vegetation.
Revitalize through vegetation implants
A transformation resolutely focused on greening and animation has metamorphosed the esplanade into a vibrant urban landscape. Urban gardens stretch out, acting as breaths of greenery in the heart of downtown. This vitality is accentuated by the variation in both length and width of the urban gardens, creating a dynamic that resonates with the energy of the city itself. In harmony with this diversity, the changing arrangement of seating offers spaces ready to accommodate a multitude of uses and to provide nooks of comfort for all passersby.

Corten steel, meticulously sandblasted and activated, finds its harmony with moabi seating, a species resilient to climatic variations and attacks from insects and fungi. These materials fuse to create a visual balance, offering a palette of neutral and natural tones that blend into the historic fabric of Bourg-en-Bresse's town center.
These improvements are not just standard installations, but the result of a creative adaptation of our C-NATURA urban garden range. Each of our products has been re-engineered and adjusted to meet the unique scale of the desired layouts, characterized by dimensions far exceeding the norm. Our expertise has allowed us to adapt our existing layouts to the specific constraints related to the length of the bins. Thanks to our mastery of the activation and stabilization process of Corten steel, we have delivered all of the sandblasted and activated Corten structures, with a finish that is as homogeneous as possible between the different parts of the landscaping.
