VEGETATION OF A SCHOOLYARD IN TOURS
Cette école primaire souhaitait déminéraliser et végétaliser sa cour afin d’offrir aux élèves un espace plus accueillant et agréable. L’objectif était de rompre avec l’aspect exclusivement bitumé du lieu et de créer de véritables zones vertes, tout en préservant la sécurité et la convivialité. Nous avons relevé ce défi en proposant d’abord des costières en aluminium pour végétaliser la cour et aménager des espaces de détente mais aussi proposé des bacs sans fond spécialement conçus pour ce projet.
Seating made of European black locust
- We participated in the de-paving of the courtyard of this school in Tours with aluminum planters to green the area and create shaded seating areas.
- To promote relaxation, we have added seating made of raw robinia wood around the edges of the retaining walls. This material choice offers good outdoor resistance. The corners, on the other hand, have been equipped with rubber protectors, ensuring optimal safety in a school environment.
An ambitious greening project for summer 2024
In 2024, the school management called on our services to manufacture aluminum coasters in order to Greening the schoolyard and y Bring more freshness.
The objective was to revitalize the spaces and improve the well-being of the children within the establishment.
The planned layout is organized around an existing metal structure, which allows for shade cloths to be stretched. We have arranged our Aluminum casing and us bottomless bins all around, in order to create shaded spaces with seating and planted areas.
This new organization allows to structure the yard while also increasing areas for relaxation and socializing. The presence of plants also helps to make the environment more pleasant on a daily basis and to enhance the landscape quality of the establishment.
Designed to blend seamlessly with the existing surroundings, this development accompanys the transformation of the court in a more welcoming space adapted to students' needs.
It thus helps to make the courtyard a real living space, designed for the daily comfort and well-being of students.
A secure and sustainable installation
Nos costières en aluminium ont été fabriquées grâce à des procédés de pliage très minutieux afin de garantir des produits les plus qualitatifs possibles. Les bacs sans fond comme les îlots créées grâce aux costières, facilitent l’enracinement des plantes et un meilleur drainage. Résultat : un aménagement qui ne craint ni les intempéries, ni l’important passage quotidien des élèves.
A positive assessment: Comfort and conviviality rediscovered
According to initial feedback, students and teachers particularly appreciate these shaded areas, which provide a space to relax and socialize outside of the classroom. The presence of greenery also helps to cool the courtyard and improve the school environment.
To take this approach further Greening the schoolyard, the establishment is already planning to add other plant species and, why not, new urban furniture modules to extend the experience.
